Recording + Edit + Mixdown in the Studio
Recording captures sound or music in digital form using microphones and recording equipment. It usually requires knowledge of acoustics and skill in setting up microphones and other recording equipment.
Editing refines the recorded sounds or music into a smooth, professional recording. This usually involves removing unwanted noise or interference, adjusting levels and crossfading transitions.
Mixdown brings the individual recorded tracks together into a finished sound. Levels, panning, effects and other settings are adjusted to achieve the best balance. This final stage of the recording process adds the finishing touches before release.
Together, these stages form the audio recording and production process: capturing, editing and mixing sound or music to achieve a professional result.
