We offer teambuilding events for whole departments of up to 60 people at Musikpark and Schraubfabrik. Work across disciplines with professional musicians and producers to write lyrics and make music. Sing your team’s ideas together as a choir and record them with professional audio and video equipment.

Our philosophy
Creating a song and producing it in the studio involves many different elements, each requiring different talents and contributions. There is creative work, developing an idea, writing lyrics and composing, as well as arranging, playing instruments, editing tracks and mixing the song.
This makes the process ideal for a team to explore together, discovering both their own talents and those of others. The group develops a shared vision for a song, then brings it to life in smaller teams. Participants’ different skills can be used where they contribute most to the project.
There is room to develop skills in lyric writing, solo or group singing, playing an instrument, or assisting with recording, editing and mixing.
Unexpected talents can emerge, and the group discovers how everyone can contribute to a song that represents them all.
Coaches
Jonas Birthelmer:
Born in Heilbronn in 1983, singer and songwriter, and a gold- and platinum-selling songwriter with Sony Music Publishing. Singer and composer in JONA BIRD. Over ten years of experience coaching vocals, songwriting and bands, including guest teaching for the Bandpool programme at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim. Director of JON School for Music & Writing in Mannheim.
Jan Kalt:
Born in Münster, Westphalia, in 1971, music producer, coach and DJ. Jan has run Schraubfabrik recording studio for over 20 years, recording, producing and mixing tens of thousands of songs, from rock and pop to classical and electronic music. His references range from regional names such as Gringo Mayer, Apache 207, Julia Neigel, Kosho of Söhne Mannheims, Peter Seiler and Laith Al-Deen to independent acts from across Germany and Europe.
As a teambuilding and team-event coach in Mannheim, he has worked for SAP, Freudenberg, Verivox, BASF and many others.
How a Mannheim teambuilding event works
- Introduction to Schraubfabrik studio and the Popakademie
- Presentation of songwriting approaches
- Workshop on cover songs and creating your own interpretations
- Developing melodies and sample lyrics together
- Team competition, such as rewriting well-known songs in another language
- Warm-up with rhythm exercises and body percussion
- Vocal exercises as a choir, soloists, ad-libs and harmonies
- Recording in the studio with Jan Kalt in groups of six, followed by everyone singing together as a choir
- Mixing, mastering and burning to CD, or uploading MP3s and emailing download links
