Beats and karaoke backing tracks at Schraubfabrik

How it works:
Bring the karaoke version or beat of the song you want to sing or rap over to our recording studio, and we will record your vocals in top quality.

It can be worth buying a professional karaoke version, as tracks found online are often poor-quality MP3s. These compressed backing tracks can be difficult to blend with the high-resolution vocals recorded in the studio.

Please email me the song title or a link to the beat in advance so I can assess whether it is suitable for a studio recording.

Another option is to sing over a well-programmed MIDI file. Many are available free online, and paid versions can be purchased from a trusted MIDI file supplier. A MIDI file contains the instruments as separate tracks of MIDI notes.

In the studio, I replace the often poor standard MIDI sounds with high-quality samples and sounds from my library. This gives me more flexibility to adapt the backing track to your vocal performance, whether by changing its key or adjusting the balance between music and vocals in the mix.

The more separate tracks I have to work with, the better the overall sound can be.

Here is why:

The singer arrived motivated, on time and knowing the lyrics inside out. I corrected only minor timing and vocal rhythm errors in the sequencer. I can also use Auto-Tune to correct pitch fluctuations, but in these two cases we simply recorded difficult passages several times and combined the best takes.

When I use Auto-Tune, I do so in a way that you cannot hear afterwards.

The goal is always a clean vocal performance without distracting artefacts. Small imperfections are human and should not be flattened unnecessarily, so that your voice remains recognisably yours.
